Students at the University of Central Florida (UCF) can turn their ambitious dreams into realities in four new Maker Space labs supported by TI. These state-of-the-art labs provide the tools and resources needed for students to deploy their passion and creativity and push the boundaries of impossible.

The Gathering Lab, Idea Lab, Texas Instruments Innovation Lab and Manufacturing Lab each provide unique opportunities to take ideas from conception into fully constructed prototypes, ready for the real world.

“Creativity, passion, hands-on innovation experience, and a competitive edge are what Texas Instruments wants to see students possess on day one. The Texas Instruments Innovation Lab is a valuable way to prepare students for the highly-competitive professional world,” said TI executive vice president Brian Crutcher.

The Texas Instruments Innovation Lab comes fully equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, TI components and equipment and other high-tech machines. Students will also find lab experts ready to answer any technical questions that may arise.

“Most universities have a history of preparing students for the future with technology from the past. This effort is about making sure students are prepared for their career, not their professor’s career,” said UCF alum and retired TI principal Fellow Gene Frantz.

The TI University Program blog has more details and interesting information about the transformative Maker Space labs. To learn more about the Texas Instruments Innovation Lab and how each of the four labs at UCF help students innovate, click here.
