Guest blog post from Glenn Vassallo, CEO & Founder, Swift Software Pty. Ltd.

My name is Glenn Vassallo , I am an IT professional with a background in cloud, mobile and data, but recently I have been developing an embedded device based on Texas Instrument’s SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi technology.

I was recently recognized as an E2E MVP through TI's E2E community reward and recognition program.

Through TI’s E2E program, I was invited to present an introduction to the SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 LaunchPad. It is titled Make Every IoT Device Connected and can be found here on the TI training portal or just click the video below to start watching.

If you are interested in developing a connected device using Wi-Fi then this presentation will help you get started with the CC3200 LaunchPad. It summarizes the why, what and how of the CC3200 LaunchPad, including details on hardware and software. It ends with presenting three product examples in the area of sensors and control, IoT and Home Automation.

The reason I chose TI’s SimpleLink Wi-Fi family is because TI makes it simple for individuals, passionate developers, start-ups and small businesses to go to market quickly with their end-to-end solutions.

  • This includes an integrated software development tool chain, with all components available for free.
  • An extensive and affordable selection of development kits and plug-in modules.
  • And of course, great support via TI’s E2E community, where you will find me, TI engineers and many other active community members ready to offer a hand.

I like TI’s E2E community and SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3100 & CC3200 forum because it is a great place to learn about the SimpleLink Wi-Fi technology from the many experienced and knowledgeable members, including TI staff, who are always open to feedback and suggestions for improvement.

If you have any questions about the CC3200 LaunchPad after the presentation, then please feel free to pay us a visit at the E2E forum.
