All of the DIY with TI projects showcased so far have been the innovations of long-time TI employees – some with more than 20 years of engineering experience. But in the case of the motion-sensing sound generator, a creative and resourceful TI intern created the technology to enhance a party costume.
Kristen Villemez, an intern with the power management team, admitted an intense dedication to improving on her original creation, “It’s going to be strapped to my leg in the final product. It will sense if I am walking or standing still and play different sounds based on what I am doing,” said Kristen.
“All I have right now is the very first prototype and the code is nowhere near perfect. It doesn't work as smoothly as I would like to but it is a proof-of-concept and it works,” she said.
Kristen is proof you don’t need years of engineering experience to be a DIY enthusiast with TI.
