Superheroes waving signs, wearing masks, capes – even full suits (Ironman, anyone?). That was the scene this morning when TI CEO Rich Templeton, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas CEO Jennifer Sampson, and Kimberly-Clark CEO Tom Falk gathered at WFAA-TV’s Good Morning Texas headquarters to announce the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas' 2012 campaign results and recognize volunteers.
Templeton, who was the 2012-13 United Way of Metropolitan Dallas chair, said that the campaign is expected to raise $62 million, more than 6 percent over last year’s total. The reason for the volunteers' superhero wear? It was all tied to next week’s Heroes of Hope dinner, where outstanding companies and individuals will be celebrated for their efforts.
